Son of Eleanor
These are paid actors, not actual family members.
My mother, Eleanor, had a way of making every single person who walked through her door feel like the most important guest she'd ever had. It didn't matter if you were family, a neighbor, or someone she'd met five minutes ago — she made you feel seen.
People always talk about her cooking, and yes, her Sunday roast was a thing of legend. But what I remember most wasn't the food. It was the way she'd sit at that kitchen table long after the plates were cleared, just listening. She was the best listener I've ever known.
She taught me that love isn't something you announce. It's something you do — quietly, consistently, every single day. When I was struggling in college and thinking about giving up, she didn't lecture me. She just sent me a card every week. No big speeches. Just her handwriting, telling me she believed in me. I still have every one of them.
She was married to my father for forty-nine years. She raised three children, weathered more than her share of hard seasons — and through all of it, she never lost her tenderness. Thank you, Mom. For everything. We carry you with us — always.
