I had the privilege of knowing Eleanor for over forty years. She was the kind of person who remembered your birthday, your children's names, and the small things you mentioned in passing months ago. Her compassion was genuine and her wisdom was hard-earned. She once told me, "Alan, the secret to a good life is simple — just be kind." I've never forgotten it.
